Bird.i APIs

Whether you have a mapping application or a location-based service, it couldn’t be easier to power it with our Image Service APIs to bring a new dimension of insights to your customers.

  • CATALOG API

    BROWSE / SEARCH / FILTER

The Catalog API provides the capability to browse and search our global image index. You can use this API to search for available imagery over your locations of interest, and browse detailed metadata about the imagery. This can then be used in combination with the Image API to view a selected image or with the Download API to download it. You can see an example of the Catalog and Image APIs in action in our online Image Service Portal.

  • IMAGE API

    VIEW / STREAM

The Image API facilitates viewing an image for a given location and date from the Catalog API response. This is the most widely used and flexible API from our stock.

  • TILES API

    VIEW

The Tiles API allows you to view the latest imagery over an area by streaming image tiles through a single WMTS-style endpoint. This API is a great match if you want the simplest method of bringing image tiles directly into your mapping application, without extra configuration.

  • DOWNLOAD API

    VIEW / DOWNLOAD

Sometimes you want to be able to access imagery offline or in external applications. The Download API helps you do just that, by providing an image snapshot over your area of interest. These images can be optionally geo-referenced, to support directly importing your imagery into Desktop GIS software.
