About Integrating Bird.i Satellite Imagery with Leaflet
Leaflet is the leading open-source mapping library, providing a container to view layers of geographic data. Many companies are using Leaflet as their application of choice because it is a versatile and free alternative to Google Maps. There are also many extras that can be used in Leaflet, such as Leaflet-Hash to add dynamic URL hashes to web pages with Leaflet maps, or Leaflet Draw to draw lines and polygons on top of the map. Connecting Bird.i images with Leaflet is very easy and will allow you to show the most recent available satellite imagery in your Leaflet map.
Here’s what our imagery could look like once integrated with Leaflet:
This basic integration example is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the APIs’ capabilities! For example, it displays the most recent image for each location, but our APIs make all the imagery we have for each location available for access; that means you can see historical imagery for each location in order to track changes over time.
